Since 1956, CRC Has Provided Customers with a Complete Manufacturing Service Solution

1956

Container Research Corporation is incorporated and open up their first facility in Swarthmore Pennsylvania. Three World War Two veterans joined forces to create CRC; Stanley Rines, Sr., a manufacturing expert, William Swan, a professional engineer, and Nicholas Schlufer, a business industry leader and developer.

CRC begins manufacturing the first large order for helicopter rotor blade containers.

1963

CRC grew out of the Swarthmore location and moved to the current Glen Riddle Pennsylvania where over 250,000 square feet of manufacturing facilities dedicated developing, testing and manufacturing systems to create a safer environment to accommodate high-value assets.

1965

CRC ramped up to a three shift operation to support the Vietnam War effort supplying a multitude of shipping and storage containers and pallets for assets ranging from bombs to aircraft components.

1968

CRC adds a massive addition to the existing facility including an extensive high bay with over 30-foot ceiling height and multiple rail cranes.

1970

Westinghouse purchases a fleet of containers to transport and store fresh nuclear fuel for its domestic nuclear power generation facilities.

1971

CRC incurred the wrath of hurricane Agnes and was decimated by over 7 feet of flood waters. Through the dedicated effort of the employees and local assistance, manufacturing was manufacturing resumed in two weeks.

1978

CRC teamed with Martin- Marietta to design, test and mass produce the shipping systems used to deploy the Pershing Two missiles to Eastern Europe as part of the cold war strategy to deter the invasion from the west.

1981

Developed and mass produced the shipping systems used to deploy the Neutron Bomb systems as a deterrent during the cold war.

1990

Testing completed on 4 prototype Navy shipboard electronics cabinets. CRC commences production of the initial order for 1000 units.

NASA Goddard Space Center selects CRC as a preferred supplier to provide containers and refurbishment services on existing containers.

1991

CRC supplies a series of containers to GE Aerospace to transport Landsat/DMSP spacecraft, a Solar Array satellite and TELSTAR satellite containers.

CRC competes to develop a low-cost engine stand for Allison Gas Turbine division of General Motors.

1993

CRC is awarded NAVICP long term contract to development Naval aviation related containers and related products.

1995

Westinghouse awards CRC a contract to refurbish its fleet of fresh nuclear fuel containersfor its domestic nuclear power generation facilities. These containers were originally built by CRC have been in service as long as 25 years.

CRC in partnership with the Department of Defense develops and manufactures over 375 portable field sterilizers used for surgical instruments and dressings.

1998

CRC is awarded NAVICP long term contract to development Naval aviation related containers and related products.

2005

CRC is awarded NAVICP long term contract to development Naval aviation related containers and related products.

2006

CRC celebrates its 50th anniversary by having an open house with guided tours, demonstration food and festivities for all employees and families, neighbors, friends, customers and suppliers

2008

CRC receives Certification to AS9100

2010

CRC is awarded a multi-year contract by Hyundai-Rotem of Philadelphia to manufacture parts and subassemblies for 75 trucks to be installed on the MBTA- Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority new rail cars.

CRC is awarded NAVICP long term contract to development Naval aviation related containers and related products.

2011

CRC is certified to ISO 9001:2009 and AS9100C

2015

CRC receives Risk Management Award from Pennsylvania Manufacturers Association for commitment to safety and achieving one year without a lost time incident.

CRC is awarded NAVSUP long term contract to development Naval aviation related containers and related products.

2016

CRC celebrates its 60th anniversary

2018

CRC is certified to ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D

CRC is awarded veteran owned Small Business of the Year by the Delaware County of Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce. Receives Certificate of recognition from the Pennsylvania State senate and House of Representatives.
